Scott was destined to be a part of the “Aspen Story”. Born in northern California, raised and educated in Texas, Scott was introduced to the area in the early 70’s by his grandparents who had a home in Snowmass Village. As a result and thanks to his outdoorsy parents, he was an avid skier, hiker and camper from a young age! He began his professional career in the mid 90’s as a television news producer, reporter and anchor for ABC, NBC and FOX affiliates in Colorado, Alabama, North Carolina and Washington State.
Yearning for more permanent, healthful and inspirational surroundings, Scott realized a life-long dream of living and working in the mountains by moving to the Roaring Fork Valley in 2002. As news director for KSNO-FM he covered the devastating Coal Seam fire in Glenwood Springs that summer. Later he represented the local business community at the Aspen Chamber Resort Association specializing in sales and marketing. Capitalizing on his strong interpersonal and organizational skills, Scott earned his real estate license in 2005, quickly becoming a respected broker and top producer.
Since then and through the Great Recession, Scott has continued to serve Buyers and Sellers in Aspen, Snowmass Village, Woody Creek, Emma, Basalt, Ruedi Reservoir, Carbondale and Glenwood Springs. His clients return to him time and again for his valuable information and advice – timely follow-up and follow-through – tough, creative negotiation and simply, consistently getting the job done. Scott is an expert in residential, commercial, fractional and investment properties in Aspen and Snowmass Village as well as the greater Roaring Fork Valley. He’s worked in the REO, foreclosure and bank owned sector. He’s also considered a local authority on TDRs (transferable development rights).
As an active member of the local community, Scott currently sits on the Board of Blue Lake Preschool, is a former member of the Aspen Board of Realtors, The Roaring Fork Conservancy, and Aspen Young Professionals Association. He is an Aspen Elk (BPOE #224) and Eagle Scout. Scott has always been interested in the area’s rich history and loves helping his many clients discover all the rewards of living, working and playing here in the heart of the Rockies! Scott works from the Aspen and Basalt offices but calls Carbondale home where he lives with his wife McLean, a Nurse Practitioner, young son Bridger and two rescue dogs.
