The town of New Castle Colorado is a quaint town situated in a narrow valley with views of mountain peaks, and it’s the proud home of an award-winning golf course at Lakota Canyon. This town is rich in history and charm. At an elevation of 5,500 feet and with four distinct seasons, the town offers year-round recreational opportunities. Only a couple of thousand residents live in New Castle full time and when you meet them, you are typically greeted with cheer and charisma.
New Castle Colorado has become a very popular real estate market over the last couple years. This is partly due to rising home prices in Glenwood Springs, Carbondale and further up valley. New Castle has remained relatively affordable to some of the other surrounding towns in the area. We are starting to see home prices in New Castle rise at an increasing rate as well.
Whatever the reason might be that you are living or visiting New Castle, you should make it a point to do these things:
New Castle is a wonderful community. The people are amazing and the views are simply incredible. We have a diverse community ranging from youth all the way to retirees. The local high school is Coal Ridge High School for New Castle.
Next time you visit the Western Slope, make it a point to stop in New Castle and you will not be disappointed. With all the beauty in the small towns around New Castle, it often gets overlooked and I do not want you to miss that opportunity!
